Trump Plan Would Slash State Department Funding by Nearly Half, Memo Says

The proposed budget cuts continue the administration’s aggressive retrenching of The US’s role as a global leader.  Further cuts in humanitarian and development assistance, drastic reductions in funding to the UN and other international organizations as well as firing of thousands of diplomatic staff represent a huge step back. Our hope is that prior bipartisanship support in Congress will still be there to push back.
