US Cyber Command’s Top General Makes Case for Partnering with Tech Firms

Cyber Command is trying to increase its partnership with the commercial technology sector, and General Paul Nakasone, head of both the NSA and Cyber Command, argues that partnering with the government is not only necessary for success in cyberspace, but is mutually beneficial. NSA and Cyber Command have been on a years-long tour to win back the trust of Silicon Valley and the private sector, following disclosures from former contractor Edward Snowden that detailed global espionage. The agencies have attempted to demonstrate the value of a strong public-private relationship by publicly disclosing enemy activity and malware discovered through their operations.
