CISA’s Wales Commits to “Ambitious” Cybersecurity Executive Order

Acting CISA director Brandon Wales says that the deadlines in President Biden’s “ambitious” cybersecurity executive order – some as tight as 30 days – will “stretch the system,” but the EO “reflects what’s needed to confront the cybersecurity threats and risks that we face right now.” Wales says these milestones are achievable, and that work on some of them had already begun before the EO was finalized; the directive in writing from the White House helps empower and motivate CISA to finish the job.
