Position title
Intellectual Property (IP) Attorney for the Department of the Air Force (Arlington, VA)
Description

Are you a top-tier intellectual property attorney ready to tackle the nation's
most complex technology and acquisition challenges? The Department of the
Air Force's Office of the General Counsel is seeking a highly skilled and
experienced attorney to join its prestigious IP Cadre within the Acquisition,
Technology, and Logistics Division of the Air Force Office of General Counsel
at the Pentagon, Arlington VA.
This is a unique opportunity to serve as a key legal advisor at the highest
levels of government. You will provide actionable, candid, and independent
counsel to members of the Secretariat, Air and Space Staff, and Portfolio
Acquisition Executives on all matters of intellectual property law relevant to
government procurements. Your portfolio will be dynamic and critical,
covering intellectual property rights for major weapon systems, advanced
space systems, complex information technology, and non-traditional
procurement instruments.
As a senior expert in the field, you will be entrusted with developing creative
solutions for novel legal problems without direct precedent. In addition, part of
your role may involve providing legal oversight on major contract litigation,
including bid protests before the GAO and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
The ideal candidate possesses recognized expertise in intellectual property
law and rights in technical data and computer software applicable to
government contracts and OTAs, coupled with the proven ability to lead and
mentor other attorneys. If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for public
service and a desire to work at the intersection of law, national security, and
technology, we encourage you to apply.
