Expertise and Resources for the Government Contracting Community

About PubKGroup

Attorney and longtime government employee Jerry Walz founded Pub K Protests & Claims after retiring from a robust and distinguished career in public service. Having spent 17 years as the chief of the Department of Commerce’s Contract Law Division, Jerry was in a unique position to share news and insights with the professional contract law community, and Pub K Protests & Claims quickly became an invaluable resource for federal employees, contractors, and their counsel. Jerry continued publishing Pub K Protests & Claims for more than a dozen years before he announced his second retirement.

In 2015, Pub K added Pub K Cyber & Privacy to our slate of publications, tracking legal and regulatory developments in cybersecurity for contractors at the state, federal, and international levels. In 2016, we launched Pub K Compliance & Enforcement, a daily resource for compliance and legal professionals following False Claims Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act enforcement, suspension and debarment matters, and other issues related to waste, fraud, and abuse.

Over the years, we have also expanded our delivery to include podcasts and webinars to bring the latest developments to our subscribers. Our jobs board allows firms to reach a high quality audience of potential candidates and our calendar of events helps connect our community to valuable presentations and meetings that support continued learning and networking. Our members also can share their insights with our Publish With Us feature.

In response to recent unprecedented developments, Pub K has created central repositories for information and insights related to the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic and its effect on federal contractors, as well as the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. As a service to the government contractor community, these resources are free to the public outside our paywall.

Pub K’s Annual Review welcomes dozens of leaders in the field to discuss the most important developments in protests, claims, and other disputes; cybersecurity; cost and pricing issues; False Claims Act enforcement; and new laws and regulations. In 2021, we expanded our Annual Review to a four-day virtual event, with more than twice as many panel discussions featuring nearly 60 of the top practitioners in government contract law, as well as representatives from major accounting firms, academia, and government. The conference has been recognized by multiple state boards with certifications for Continuing Legal Education for participants and speakers.

Pub K Group looks forward to bringing our members the news and insights they need to stay abreast of developments in government contract law. Thank you for being a member of our community!
