Defense Stands Up Supply Chain Resiliency Working Group

The Defense Department has created a new Supply Chain Resiliency Working Group, dedicated to addressing challenges with its supply chain visibility and resiliency, including ways to mitigate risk. The Office of Industrial Policy, led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Policy Jesse Salazar, will lead the task force. Its mission – expected to take two years – will build on existing DoD efforts to shore up supply chain vulnerabilities that have been an increasingly critical concern, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic brought some of them to greater attention.
