A survey of the impact of President Biden’s cybersecurity executive order indicates a broadly positive reception, with 99% of federal cybersecurity professionals believing the government is making progress toward its goals, and 78% saying the order included needed steps for the protection of the United States’ cyber assets. However, although support for a zero-trust strategy is almost universal, two-thirds say that the goal of implementing it in three years is unrealistic. The survey’s analysts recommend allocating resources toward national security, getting all agencies up to speed, and staying proactive.
