Meanwhile, USAID issued a Press Release of President Biden announcement that the US is adding more than $1 billion in humanitarian assistance to address food insecurity and other urgent needs of refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and affected communities in 31 African countries. The $1 billion is primarily through USAID ($823 million), with $202 million coming from USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation and $186 million from State.
