In a recent statement posted on GSA’s website, Acting Administrator Stephen Ehikian delineated his vision for the agency. He stated that he wants to return GSA to its founding mission of streamlining federal operations, consolidating resources, and efficiently providing services to agencies. He wants GSA to optimize the federal building portfolio by selling underutilized assets with significant liabilities. Additionally, he wants to streamline procurement by centralizing procurement of common goods with GSA and improving the agency’s procurement technology. He also wants to rationalize the government’s IT structure by, among other things, reimagining the FedRAMP authorization process.
