For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been hearing rumors about an FAR rewrite. A new GSA announcement apparently confirms that FAR 2.0 is on the horizon. The announcement notes that the government is undertaking the first comprehensive overhaul of the FAR in 40 years. The revisions will eliminate burdensome and outdated requirements, remove non-statutory rules, and replace them with practical buying guides and plain-language regulations. The GSA announcement links to already-revised FAR parts and deviation guides that agencies can adopt immediately.
