The FAR Council has released a class deviation for FAR Part 30, Cost Accounting Standards Administration. The deviation is a comprehensive revision that includes a structural reorganization to align with the acquisition lifecycle, a consolidation of policies, and the elimination of obsolete requirements. The revised structure consolidates the previous six subparts into four process-related subparts—i.e., General, Presolicitation, Evaluation and Award, and Postaward. Each new subpart groups CAS-related requirements according to when they occur in the acquisition process. Thus, the new Postaward subpart is the location for all CAS administration activities—e.g., remedies, resolving cost impacts, and subcontract administration.
