Wiley – On April 15, 2025, President Trump issued Executive Order 14275, “Restoring Common Sense ot Federal Procurement,” setting in motion the most comprehensive overhaul of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) since its inception more than 40 years ago. In this Briefing Paper, Wiley Partner Kara Sacilotto examines the implementation of the FAR overhaul and its implications for government contractors. Federal contractors may expect to see reduced administrative burdens and simplified procedures. Until then, they should also expect uncertainty, closer alignment with commercial practices, and additional costs in updating training, policies, and procedures.
