The Office of Management and Budget has released a new memorandum providing guidance to agencies on improving their acquisition of artificial intelligence. The memorandum directs agencies to update their AI policies, maximize the use of American-made AI, and implement processes for protecting intellectual property rights and government data. It also sets forth detailed AI acquisition lifecycle guidance, including how to identify AI requirements, conduct market research, and develop a solicitation.
