On March 31, 2025, President Trump issued an executive order establishing a new office, the United States Investment Accelerator, within the Department of Commerce. This new office will assist domestic and foreign companies in investing in the United States. This will include reducing regulatory burdens on investments, increasing access to U.S. natural resources, and facilitating research with national labs. The new Investment Accelerator office will also be in charge of the CHIPS Program Office and will focus on negotiating better deals under the CHIPS Act.
