President Trump issued has an executive order to reform the foreign defense sales system. The order seeks to improve accountability and transparency in the system, consolidate decision-making, reduce rules and regulations governing foreign sales, and increase government-industry collaboration. It directs the Secretaries of State and Defense to develop a list of priority partners for arms transfers and review and update the list of items that can only be purchased through the foreign military sales process.
