In an analysis shared by Wayan Vota on LinkedIn, he found that most foundations cap grantee overhead at 10% or less.

Here’s what major foundations actually spend on their own operations (chosen for size, not as those that cap overhead):
– RWJF: 18.8% overhead
– MacArthur Foundation: 19% overhead
– Walton Family Foundation: 18% overhead
– Mellon Foundation: 16% overhead
– The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation: 15% overhead
