Government Contractors Ask DoD for More Engagement to Help Comply with CMMC

Three government contractor groups – the National Defense Industry Association, the Professional Services Council, and Information Technology Industry Council – have written to Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks to request more communication and compliance support for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program. The groups warn that a lack of information from DoD about the CMMC could soon have serious financial implications for their members, as small businesses may be unable to handle the cost of doing business with the DoD, resulting in supply problems and higher costs for the government.
