Chevron Overruled: A New Legal Landscape for Agency Deference

The Supreme Court’s decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo and Relentless v. U.S. Department of Commerce overruling the Chevron doctrine dramatically changed how courts will now decide questions of agency deference. Panelists will consider how to navigate current controversies in light of the shifted legal landscape and what changes might be in store for Treasury, the Service, and taxpayers.
Learning Objectives: After attending the session, the participant will be able to:
•Identify how the law regarding agency deference changed with the Supreme Court’s decision in Loper Bright and Relentless.
•Understand considerations for navigating current tax controversies in light of the decision.
