Government contracts attorney for primary line of business—each of our client’s primary lines of business require support of a seasoned government contracts attorney.  As a Senior Counsel, the position will support and advise executives and business operations personnel.

Client Profile:

Multi-billion dollar aviation and services contractor has engaged G&S on an exclusive basis to assist in the recruitment of two accomplished government contracts lawyers with 8+ years of practice experience.  Our client provides innovative systems and products to the U.S. government, foreign governments and commercial customers worldwide.

Responsibilities:

As the Government Contracts subject matter expert (“SME”) for your business client, your portfolio will include: providing expert advice on the FAR, DFARS and other acquisition supplements; reviewing and counseling on RFPs, solicitations, teaming agreements, joint ventures, consulting agreements, strategic alliances, etc.; advising on claims and disputes and supervising litigation; handling responses to investigations and government audits; managing the prosecution or defense of bid protests; and training employees on government contract requirements and various compliance matters (e.g., revolving door restrictions).

Requirements:

This Government Contracts SME must have deep experience in all aspects of federal government procurement, as well as expertise in international commercial contracting with foreign governments and other customers.  Knowledge of cost accounting standards, DCAA and DCMA audits and policies, the FCPA and export control regulations is strongly preferred.  The ability to work collaboratively and build consensus among cross-functional groups and demonstrate sound judgment is required, as is the ability to provide advice that recognizes and integrates legal risk and business objectives.  You should also have a track record of working as a “team player” within a legal group to support departmental success.
